BC Just Made Real Estate Speculation Even Worse

The BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) has announced the intention to seek consultation from market experts and industry stakeholders to review the potential of introducing new consumer protection measures in 2022 in an effort to help protect consumers in the BC real estate market.

These measures include, the Province of BC’s previously announced introduction of a cooling off period, a review and potential end to “blind bidding” and measures to curb “price baiting”.

In this video, Surrey Real Estate specialist Steve Karrasch of Macdonald Realty, discusses the various concerns that the BCFSA is aiming to tackle and how potential regulation or changes to the way in which real estate is permitted to be bought or sold in BC will affect the real estate market.
